Participating in action sports is not only expensive, but as we all know too well it is risky. We spend thousands of dollars on equipment, traveling to races, entry fees, race fuel, race parts, bikes, boards, safety equipment etc... Unfortunately a lot of riders do not put insurance at the top of their priority list because it is not a tangible item, they are not aware of the risk, so some riders take the gamble. The scary part is that it only takes one accident or miscalculation on someone else's part, to put us in a very expensive medical situation.
